Curator Talk: “Pacific Sounds” with Paul R. Davis

Several works in the Menil’s gallery for the Arts of the Pacific Islands are musical instruments that would accompany the singers, dancers, and performers for important ceremonies and entertainment. Join Paul R. Davis, Curator of Collections, in the gallery for a discussion about the aural and visual power flutes, drums, and other sound-making objects on view. As part of the program, he will share sound recordings of the instruments and archival images of performances.
