Member Noontime Talk: Conservation on Niki de Saint Phalle Sculpture

Space is limited and RSVPs are required.

Join Ruthie Rolfsmeyer, Objects Conservation Intern, for a talk on her technical study and treatment of Niki de Saint Phalle’s Cat and Camel sculptures. Brightly painted over cast fiber-reinforced polyester resin, de Saint Phalle created these in the late 1960s and gifted them to the de Menils in 1971. Ruthie will highlight the role of the artists’ materials and techniques in fabricating these sculptures and her progress in treatment to prepare them for exhibition later next year.

Held every Friday for a small group, Member Noontime Talks make exhibitions more intimate and reveal the collection like never before. To sign up, please RSVP to membership@menil.org. If you are not currently a Menil Member, you can learn more and join here.
