DACAMERA, in partnership with the Menil Collection, continues their Hearing Color, Seeing Time series of performances in the Menil galleries. This concert, filmed in front of a live audience in the Cy Twombly Gallery in 2018, presents Claire Chase, flute, with Giancarlo Latta, violin, and Erik Ulman, guest composer, in a program of music related to Twombly’s paintings. It includes works by composers Felipe Lara, Marcos Balter, Suzanne Farrin, and Erik Ulman. Additionally, Ulman and Sarah Rothenberg discuss Twombly’s abstract works and recount the composer’s unusual, long-distance friendship with the painter.
