Live at the Menil: Mineko Grimmer x John Cage

Live at the Menil: Mineko Grimmer x John Cage presents six performances of One10 over three nights in mid-June by Houston’s newest music ensemble Loop38.

Written in 1992, One10 is an innovative music composition written by John Cage for solo violin that is only performed in concert with Mineko Grimmer’s sound sculptures. Jacob Schafer will perform One10 with Remembering Plato (1992).

Staged in the West Temporary Gallery in the Menil’s main building, these performances complement the exhibition Contemporary Focus: Mineko Grimmer. The musical score relates directly to the work on view. Live at the Menil: Mineko Grimmer x John Cage highlights the interdisciplinary and collaborative spirit of both artists.
