Studio Menil Presents: Paper Ball

The Menil Collection’s annual spring fundraiser has been completely reconceived and is now a festive evening open to all with a different art-related theme each year. For this inaugural edition on Thursday, March 21, 2019, we bring you Studio Menil Presents: Paper Ball, a celebration of our newly opened Menil Drawing Institute.

Menil exhibition space Richmond Hall will be transformed for the occasion. Every aspect of the décor will explore the possibilities of paper as a medium. Partly inspired by the renowned Paper Ball held in 1936 at the Wadsworth Atheneum, where artists including Fernand Léger and Alexander Calder created elaborate paper costumes, guests at Studio Menil are encouraged to incorporate paper elements into their cocktail attire. The evening will include specialty drinks and hors d'oeuvres, an artfully presented dinner, and an unforgettable entertainment experience.

Tables are available at three levels, $10,000; $15,000; and $25,000; with limited tickets at $1,250 each. Proceeds from Studio Menil Presents: Paper Ball directly support the Menil Collection’s operations, the maintenance of the museum and neighborhood, and the organization of world-class exhibitions and programming. It is thanks to your generosity that the Menil Collection remains free of charge to all visitors.
