Double Vision: The Unerring Eye of Art World Avatars Dominique and John De Menil

Please join us for this special reading celebrating the launch of William Middleton’s Double Vision. With exceptional access to family archives, Middleton has written a biography of John and Dominique de Menil, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the art world of the twentieth century and the influence of the de Menils.

Middleton is a journalist and editor who has written for the New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, Vogue, House & Garden, Esquire, Texas Monthly, Travel & Leisure, Departures, and the International Herald Tribune. He will sign copies of his book following the reading, and a reception for registered guests will be held at the Byzantine Fresco Chapel. A co-presentation of Rothko Chapel and the Menil Collection. Space is limited; click here to register.

The book will be available for purchase at the Menil Bookstore beginning March 27, 2018. If you would like to reserve a copy ahead of time, please email bookstore@menil.org. Remember, Menil Members always receive a discount on purchases at the Menil Bookstore. While books will also be on sale at the program reception, we strongly suggest purchasing your book in advance.

Please note pre-registration has filled. Walkups are welcome, however priority seating is given to pre-registered guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open 30 minutes before the program begins.

This program is supported by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the US.
