In order to carry out necessary updates and repairs, the Menil Collection’s main museum building located at 1533 Sul Ross Street is closed to the public. The main building will reopen on September 22, 2018.
Maintenance work on the main building includes sanding the floor and treating it with stain and sealer. After thirty years of constant use, the floor will be restored to the appearance it had when the building opened. Additional projects include new gallery configurations, enhanced interior and exterior lighting, and updated fire detection sensors.
