Conversation with an Artist: Sam Gilliam

In 1971, Sam Gilliam participated in the De Luxe Show, one of the first racially integrated exhibitions of contemporary artists in the U.S. and sponsored by the de Menils. His painting, The St. Moritz Outside Mondrian (1984), is featured in the exhibition Affecting Presence. Curator Paul Davis welcomes the Washington D.C.-based artist back to Houston at this evening conversation.
