Throughout the year, The Artist's Eye is on the first Sunday of each month (except talks held on the second Sunday of April and July, due to the Easter and Independence Day holidays). A Texas artist talks about works in the Menil Collection from the permanent collection or in a temporary exhibition that has special meaning to him or her. The public is invited to these free, informal gallery discussions, which can be held in any Menil gallery, the library, or building (or outdoor space) of the artist’s choosing and begin at 3 p.m.

The Artist's Eye

Christopher Cascio on Forrest Bess

Sunday, May 5, 2013, 3:00 p.m.

Christopher Cascio works with themes of obsession, compulsion and hoarding, primarily through collage. He is from Houston and was “formally trained” at the San Francisco Art Institute, receiving his BFA in 1999. Recently he has shown at Cardoza Fine Art, Front Gallery and New Image Art (LA). Cascio is expecting to complete his Master’s of Painting at the University of Houston in May 2013, and is a great lover of Outsider Art.
