Though the Menil is open free of charge to all throughout the year, we encourage you to join our membership program. At the Menil, architecture, neighborhood, and light combine at a human scale to provide each visitor with a personal experience of extraordinary art. The de Menils gave the collection to the people of Houston and to art lovers everywhere. Please consider furthering this generous legacy.
The Menil reveals the de Menils’ modernist aesthetic and also their belief in the spiritual dimensions of art. This is evident in the collection’s great range of art through the ages, from prehistoric era, ancient Greek and Roman times, the medieval and Byzantine worlds, and indigenous cultures of Africa and Oceania€”as well as outstanding examples of modern and contemporary art.
In addition, the Menil hosts special events all year long; Menil, the membership bulletin, provides in depth exhibition articles, news, and other features.

The Menil Collection offers members rare access to one of the world’s preeminent art collections. Your membership also supports the Menil’s core activities and mission, including the museum's special exhibitions and programs.
As a member you will be notified of lectures, private previews and gallery tours, and other invitation-only events. Menil Members receive exhibition invitations and advance announcements, and are invited to member-only programs and behind-the-scenes tours with curators and other specialists.
Reciprocal Membership Program
Get more membership bang for your buck! The Menil is pleased to announce our participation in the North American Reciprocal Museum Program (NARM), a membership program. Renew your membership at the Contributor Level or above and enjoy reciprocal membership privileges when visiting over 300 institutions.
