The Menil Collection is recognized nationally and internationally for the quality and depth of its art collection and for the beautiful building by Renzo Piano which it occupies. The Menil produces stimulating, focused exhibitions and is known for the quality of its scholarly publications. Many consider it one of the greatest private art collections in the United States.
Description:
The membership department seeks a responsible individual interested in assisting, on a volunteer basis, within the department. The qualified applicant will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and will be able to work independently on tasks such as data entry, compilation of meeting and press materials, and membership mailings. The qualified applicant will also be comfortable interacting with the public and making phone calls, as needed. This important volunteer opportunity serves a pivotal organizational role in that it helps sustain an increased awareness and understanding of the Menil Collection by broadening the museum’s membership.
The volunteer will be able to maintain a flexible schedule, working approximately 5 to 10 hours per week Monday through Friday and will have the opportunity to assist with evening membership events and programs periodically.
Preferred Volunteer Qualities:
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to work collegially and complete tasks in a self-directed manner is required
- A professional and discreet comport
